Dreams and thorough research

This was written when I was watching Inception  for the second time. The first time, I couldn't hear all of it….

Dreams are not as we usually think.

As humans, we do not know as much about dreams as we think we do.

We often make assumptions based on our experiences, this is how we study things, in the first person view.

Scientists often study things in both the first and third person views. The third person view of studying things is often the method used  when using the method known as the "scientific method". This is observing things from a passer-by/bystanders point of view and is worse to use by itself than it would be to use just the first person view. This is why people often say that scientists don't know for sure what they are talking about; because most of  the scientists people listen to often only use the third person point of view.

The second person view is the most peculiar way of studying things. This is the most risky way to study anything, but can be the most beneficial if you are correct. The reason why it is so risky, but beneficial is because it is closest to the most complete point of view, but it is only a guess based on assumptive information.
The second person point-of-view is the most often view used by detectives and hunters and other people. To become the prey can tell you what they are going to do next, but you can be wrong if don't know either the situation well enough, or if you don't know the prey well enough.

When all three views are used together, we get so close to the truth, but since we are human we still aren't close enough to the truth with all three views. We are still very far from the truth. The perfect view is the one in which we see it from every point, which we cannot do, since we are human.

Anyways, back to the subject of studying dreams.

We are not certain what affect dreams have on our perception of time inside the dream, but we do know that our perception of time outside of our sleep is slowed down. We don't know for sure what happens in our brain when we are asleep, but we do know that it organizes our thoughts and cleans and refreshes our bodies. During this time, our conscious is shut down, making it seem that the trip is simultaneous, unless we dream…

Dreams are still very unknown to us, but we do know that just about everyone, or possibly everyone dreams. It is whether we remember the dreams that what makes our dreams distinctive when we were asleep.
They say that our dreams are often hard to tell from reality, because they can be so vivid.

The CAN be vivid, but this is not true for everyone, especially not al the time.
I know this, because of experiences. I think there was one time when I had a dream that felt like reality; unfortunately I don't remember which dream it was…
Ever since then, I can't recall any dreams being as vivid as reality.

People often say that you can do anything in your dreams. This is true, to some extent; we can do anything in our dreams, but this does not mean that we have control of what we do in our dreams, and/or what occurs in our dreams. Most people often cannot control what is in their dream and what it is about.
There has only been one dream that I still remember, in which I was able to take control of what happened, other then the times when I woke myself up.

Often times, we can more easily remember our dreams if we concentrate on the idea of remembering them, before we go to sleep. Also, we can store them into our long term memories if we review a summary of the dream soon after we wake up, and if we keep reviewing it as we are waking up in the morning.  I know that these are true, because I have practiced for years. And for some people, it may take years of practice to remember their dreams when they wake up.

But actually remembering if you had a dream or not is the one of the most difficult and often the most uncertain part about sleeping and dreaming. It is often like a coin-flip, but the chances increase, if you concentrate on the idea of remembering the future dream, before you go to sleep.

I find it is often times easier to dream when I have a lot less stress that I am carrying.

This was inspired by the movie Inception

Remember kids, the movie inception was mostly about the infection of an idea into someone's mind, not just about dreams.
I find dreams more fascinating at the moment, though, because we know more about ideas than we do about dreams. I will write something about ides later….
I was inspired to write another philosophical piece. Something I haven't done in a while...
Only becuase I was too lazy to write more philosophy, that and I usually am working on other things, especially as of late...
